Certified Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking on-field emergency care of professional and elite athletes. The first to respond when someone gets hurt, they are experts at injury assessment and rehabilitation. It’s that same mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating the musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries of all Canadians, whether on the field or in the clinic.
Athletic Therapists Treat:
Athletic therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription, and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective does not: an Athletic Therapist’s goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports in Whistler or simply walking to the mailbox and back.
Osteopathy is a safe and effective patient-centred manual therapy which works in combination with the individuals own homeostatic mechanisms to help restore balance and optimal health. It works with the understanding that the way the body is able to function is inseparable from the way it is structured. All aspects of the body must work together to maintain health and the osteopathic approach is able to address the person as a whole to improve not only structure and therefore function but overall health and wellbeing.
Osteopathic practitioners support the body’s ability to restore and maintain health by using skilled palpation and manual techniques to influence muscles, joints, nerves, connective tissue, circulation and internal organs. Osteopathy is drug and surgery free. It optimizes the body’s ability to heal itself and achieve balance. Benefits include: Pain relief, Increased range of motion, Increased circulation, Trauma healing, Hormonal balance, Decreased stress and tension and Improved posture.
Our approach is unique because we combine a detailed knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, with the philosophy of osteopathic healthcare. We aim to find the root cause of your pain and not just treat the symptoms.
Naturopathic Medicine is a patient-centered approach to health using evidence-based medicines combined with age old wisdom, by listening to the symptoms your body is giving with our needs for nutrition and digestion, sleep, stress reduction, cleansing, and hormonal balance.

Yamuna Body Rolling is a great exercise that helps condition your core and relieve muscle tension. It has gained popularity with many Massage therapists, Physiotherapists, Yoga instructors, and Pilates instructors for its effective way of deeply stretching muscles and releasing connective tissue restrictions at the joint deep to the bone. It is a great self maintenance stretching exercise to help clients keep flexibility between massage treatments, but also creates self body awareness and core stability. It’s the best way to feel relaxed when stretching.
Yamuna body balls are unique 6-10 inch release balls that are specially designed in stability and size to reach all those areas of muscle attachments close the bone. The suppleness and elasticity allows forgiveness into the balls while lying, relaxing and rolling over the balls. There is no better way to learn to relax those over stimulated muscles in a easy to learn movement pattern helping the whole body balance in less time than regular stretching classes.
Stretch and massage muscles after exercise at home! We sell Yamuna balls at the studio – contact us for details.
